Luckily it can be trained just like working out your muscles in the gym.

Here’s a routine with key habits to strengthen your creativity.

Morning

Meditation

DESCRIPTION - Meditation will reduce your stress and improve your mood and attention. This will increase your creative capabilities and your mental output. Meditate for 10 minutes per day to increase your creativity.

ACTION - Meditate for 10 minutes per day to increase your creativity.

Best Time of Day: Morning

Consume Healthy Fats

DESCRIPTION - The fats you eat have a direct impact on your brain. Science has proven that the fats you eat improve your attention and creative thinking. The WHO recommends eating 250-500 mg of omega-3 fatty acids every day.

ACTION - Eat 250-500mg of Omega-3 fatty acids every day.

Afternoon

Consume Caffeine

DESCRIPTION - Caffeine is a core component of most creative people. Caffeine boosts the evaluation and elaboration portions of any creative process. Start your morning right with a cup of coffee (and a refresher before 2 pm if needed).

ACTION - Drink a cup of coffee daily to start your day rightly.

DESCRIPTION - Studies show that increasing your vocabulary and reading comprehension increase your creativity. Read at least five pages per day to expand your knowledge and improve your creativity.

Sleep between 6-8 hours per night

DESCRIPTION - You’re not as sharp, alert, or focused when you do not get enough sleep. Ensure you are getting 6-8 hours of sleep to maximize your creativity.

Alter Your Routine

DESCRIPTION - Mix things up to change your viewpoint. Something as easy as taking a different route to work or changing your workout from the evening to the morning can improve your creativity. Change your schedule for a day and see the results.

Generate 20 ideas

DESCRIPTION - Creativity and business expert, James Altucher, says you should flex your creative muscles by generating 10-20 ideas every day. They don’t need to be good ones but the simple act of thinking of them will eventually lead to a good one. Keep a journal of your ideas during the course of the day.

ACTION - Write down 20 ideas every day on a notepad or app.

Walk outside

DESCRIPTION - Exercising outside, even for a short while, can improve your mood. When your mood is good, your creative juices flow. Just the simple fact of being outside improves your creativity. Make sure to go for a short walk every day to keep your creativity at its optimal.

Exercise

DESCRIPTION - Exercise is an important part of the creative process. It improves your body, mind, mood, and health which lets you be more creative. Work out 3-4 times per week to keep the creative juices flowing.

Hydrate

DESCRIPTION - You cannot be creative if you cannot think clearly. Drinking water helps you focus better and be in a better mood. This leads to being more creative. Make sure you drink 2-3 liters of water every day to be more creative.

ACTION - Drink 2 to 3 liters of water daily, making sure your body is hydrated throughout the day.
